New Afton Mine approached us to create an underground mine tour film, giving visitors and new team members a way to experience what happens more than a kilometre beneath the surface, without having to go underground themselves.
Rather than taking the traditional corporate approach, we saw an opportunity to go a step further. We wanted to create something that immersed viewers in the experience, capturing the scale, intensity, and human side of the job through a cinematic, commercial-style lens.
The result was an eight-minute short film. This piece is the director’s cut, reimagined as a brand and recruitment film that captures the feeling of working deep underground.
Huge thanks to Cougar Mining and the New Afton team for trusting our vision and giving us the creative freedom to push this project in a direction that’s rarely been explored in the mining industry. We’re incredibly proud of what we created together.
